Happy bandcamp day! I worked on this with some friends the past two weeks. It is a benefit comp, the Caterwaul Society – Songs for Rainer Fronz. 21 (!) noisy rock songs, featuring exclusives from bbigpigg, Naw, Elephant Rifle, Super Thief, Multicult, The Grasshopper Lies Heavy and DEAD. Favorites from New Primals, Moon Pussy, The Tunnel and Vincas, and more… special version of songs from Conan Neutron & the Secret Friends and Hoaries and lots, lots more.

Seriously, It is a a LOT!
If you don’t already know, label impresario (and Caterwaul organizer) Ranier Fronz, has just had major heart surgery. He’s doing well, but is off his feet for awhile. He’s done a lot of all of us bands, as well as this particular back alley of freak rock. It is a thankless job at best.

The man is doing ok, and recuperating but has a family to support as well. There IS a GoFundMe around, but it was vital for us as a community to make a forceful response of appreciation for this lovely man and all he does. That means more than just money, but you also can’t pay bills with high fives.

Also, if you don’t me saying so, it is a hell of a comp.

We ask $10 for digital… more if you can afford it. For $2 more you can get a CD (Format of the future!) with the excellent Tom Hazelmyer artwork (STIGMATA GOAT). Additionally you get a download of the record with a purchase of the also excellent stigmata goat t-shirt.

The Caterwaul society is a loose coalition of like minded noiseniks, freaks, nerds and weirdoes built around CATERWAUL. The yearly festival/gathering for such things that was unfortunately denied by COVID-19.
LET IT BE KNOWN, the Caterwaul Society: Songs For Rainer Fronz compilation is now available, and we humbly ask that you consider it for your bandcamp day purchases.

This is an announcement we hoped we weren’t going to have to make, but there will be no Caterwaul in 2020.
After thoroughly researching all of the possibilities, we have come to the conclusion that trying to restage it in the fall is simply not going to happen and will be too risky.

Current plan is to try again in Memorial Day 2021.

We know that sounds like Memorial Day 3055 or something, but that’s just the grim reality of the situation. We wanted you all to know about this and we wanted to be as upfront about the process as possible.

Advance ticket holders will be refunded, right now we are looking into the mechanisms for that. As it stands: ticket holders will NOT be getting fees back and we do not agree with that. So we are working on that piece of it. All ticket holders will be refunded though. Moving forward, there will be advance sales for Caterwaul 2021 at a later time.

Moreover: we will regroup and redouble efforts to throw the best rock ‘n roll party we can next year.
